Don’t miss the greatest resort in the valley of the sun, the iconic Mountain Shadow resort in the heart of Paradise Valley. Where you can be in the pool looking right at Camelback Mountain and turn around and gaze at Mummy Mountain. So close that you can reach out and touch them. From the minute we checked in, we were greeted with a smile. Our room is ready early. We were in the pool within 20 minutes, ordering drinks and appetizers after a warm busy day. The staff at the front desk, or bartendes behind the bar at the check-in counter or the hostess booth at hearth 61, or the friendly staff at Rusty‘s, or the wonderful and friendly pool staff , or the great folks at the short course golf shop, you can tell everyone is very well trained, and love this resort as much as their guests do. As soon as you arrive, you feel very relaxed and you know you are in a very special place. Every view out of every window is a postcard. This is the only place we stay when we are in the great state of Arizona in the most beautiful valley of the sun.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful and our rooms were very nice. We were there for a tournament with children so we didn’t get to enjoy the amenities as much as I would have liked, but the pools were great. For those traveling without kids, they mentioned an adults only pool and a bar that turns adults only at 5 pm. The restaurant looked nice. The free coffee bar that opened at 7:00 was perfect. The views from the hotel were all wonderful.

Amazing resort! I don’t understand other reviews with anything other than 5-stars, it must be people that just can’t be happy. Because there is nothing here but an amazing experience. Staff great, vibe great, food great, pool great, views great! Our plane was arriving before check-in so I emailed them and they said don’t worry about it, we’ll check you in early. Valet attendant knew our car without having to get them our ticket and the food was amazing. They did however think we were crazy, coming from Michigan in July because it was HOT!!! But, it didn’t take away from a great experience!

This resort was so nice and quiet. The staff were friendly and Cat the bartender made our stay even more enjoyable. She gave good food recommendations and she was super attentive and friendly.

We hosted a National Retail Conference at this venue and cannot express enough the level of excellence that was delivered in every detail. The views from the property set the tone, and the interior design, layout, comfort of the space that was large enough to feel relaxing and have personal time, to just the right size to keep our group connected and focused. The following staff members were beyond attentive, from supporting us through planning, and even car runs to pick up last minute items. We highly recommend them and hope to host another event here in the future! From the moment we arrived at Mountain Shadows, we were blown away by the level of service and attention to detail. Every single staff member — from the front desk to housekeeping, waitstaff to the bar team — was warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming. The food and drinks were absolutely stellar. Every meal felt thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented, and the cocktails were top-tier. Whether we were poolside or dining in, the quality never wavered. The resort itself is stunning, with breathtaking views and a serene, upscale vibe that made it the perfect escape. We truly felt taken care of in every way. We absolutely can’t wait to come back — this place exceeded all expectations. Highly, highly recommend!

The service is friendly, the pool offers incredible views, and the fitness facility is AWESOME—we come back here in part for the complimentary class line up. This time I tried Sound Healing which was like nothing I’ve experienced before. So good! Cody is doing a great job coordinating the expert offerings.
